Tuition covers several key elements of the program, including the participation fee, script, production t-shirt, and downloadable resources such as rehearsal and show videos. This fee also contributes to the majority of your child's costume costs. However, please note that performers are responsible for purchasing dance shoes, tights, undergarments, and any basic costume items (like undershirts and leggings) needed for the production.
No experience is necessary! Our performing arts education organization is dedicated to nurturing a passion for the arts in students of all backgrounds. Whether your child is a seasoned performer or just beginning their journey, we welcome them to join our programs. Our inclusive approach ensures that students of all skill levels can develop their talents and collaborate to produce outstanding performances. We value the unique contributions of each participant and believe that our diverse age groups and experience levels work together to create exceptional productions.
The audition process is designed to be engaging and comprehensive, consisting of three key components: acting, singing, and dancing. Here’s how it works:
We encourage you to give it your all and, most importantly, have fun! Our goal is to foster a supportive and collaborative environment where performers build a sense of community and cheer each other on.
Yes, there is a way for your child to prepare in advance! Before the first rehearsal, we’ll send out the audition song, sheet music, and an instructional choreography video. This allows your child to practice and familiarize themselves with the material beforehand. However, rest assured that all of the material will also be taught and reviewed during the rehearsal, so everyone will have a chance to get comfortable with it.
Our casting philosophy centers on teamwork, confidence-building, and creating a cohesive ensemble. We emphasize the collaborative process of bringing a show to life and the joy of working together to tell a story. Our production team carefully considers each performer to ensure they are cast in a role where they can shine, succeed, and continue to grow. We believe that every performer should feel confident and experience the magic of performing, contributing to a supportive and dynamic production environment.
Every performer will be cast in a role! Our dedicated production team—comprising experienced theater professionals and educators—casts each role with care. We consider factors such as each performer’s age/grade, audition performance, and previous experience to ensure a well-rounded cast. Our goal is to match each performer with a role that highlights their strengths and contributes to the overall story. Every performer will have the opportunity to shine and play a crucial part in the production, ensuring that the show benefits from the unique talents of each individual.
Your child will find out their role via an email sent to parents approximately 5-7 days after the final audition day. At the next rehearsal, our production team will review the cast list with all performers and provide an overview of the show, highlighting the special moments for each character. We encourage all our performers to embrace their roles with an open mind and heart, appreciating the unique contributions each part brings to the production. We also appreciate your support in continuing these conversations at home!
All performers are required to wear dance shoes for our productions. Dance shoes are specifically designed to enhance performance and provide better movement than regular “street” shoes. They also ensure a clean and consistent appearance on stage. All performers will be informed of the style and color of dance shoes needed for their role after a couple weeks of rehearsals. We recommend purchasing your child's dance shoes and other attire at our online store. We will have shoe sizing kits available before and after rehearsals for you t find your child's perfect size!
Yes, every performer is expected to memorize their lines, lyrics, choreography, blocking, and cues. Being well-prepared is crucial, as it allows each performer to fully engage in their role and contribute effectively to the production. We’ll provide your child with valuable techniques for memorization and make the process enjoyable, helping them develop a passion for bringing a show to life.
Tech Week, held the week before the show, is when we integrate all technical elements such as costumes, lights, sound, and sets. This week typically includes 1-3 mandatory tech rehearsals for all performers and Stage Squad (CIT program) members. During these rehearsals, performers will get into their costumes and, in some cases, receive body microphones. We’ll run the show with full costumes, lights, sounds, scenery, and props, simulating a live performance—just without the audience. By opening night, your child will feel more confident and ready to showcase their hard work to family and friends.
Performers need to arrive approximately 1 ½ hours before each show to ensure they are fully prepared for their performance. This time allows for getting into costume, warming up vocally and physically, touching up hair and makeup, applying microphones, and reviewing any last-minute scenes, songs, or dances. Before the show begins, all cast members gather for a pep talk, a group huddle, and well wishes to boost morale and focus before heading backstage.
